Kind Margin is a small set of calculators for people who set their own prices: freelancers, sole traders and small businesses.
How the calculators are built
- The formula is on the page. Every tool explains its maths and works through an example, so you can check any result by hand.
- The maths is tested. The calculations are covered by automated tests that compare them against worked examples, including rounding edge cases.
- The examples cannot drift. The worked examples on each page are produced by the same code as the calculator.
- Everything runs in your browser. The numbers you type are not sent anywhere.
Where tax rates come from
The country pages take their rates from official sources: the GST Council and CBIC for India, GOV.UK for the United Kingdom and the ATO for Australia. Each page links to its sources and shows the date the rates were last checked. The current date is 10 October 2026.
Tax rules change. If a page looks out of date, the official source linked on that page is the one to trust.
What these tools are not
They are calculators, not advice. They do not know your circumstances, and they simplify on purpose. For a tax return, a contract or a big pricing decision, talk to a qualified accountant or adviser.
